MLP Chess

Chess brony has created this massive reworking of classic chess, for Ponies.  He has described it below, in detail (In fact the entire thing was submitted as a story post, which was surprisingly helpful, if a little confusing).

Description: MLP Chess is a thing known as a chess variant. In chess variants, the general idea is the same as chess (turn-based, boards, pieces) but there are certain elements changed, such as the setup, different pieces and even turn order. This is one of the milder ones, meaning that it plays a lot like FIDE, *the* chess.

MLP Pony Tales

This might be where I send people for editing after the pre-read process determines its needed,  though I still really like Ponychan.   

I know it's a bit more strict here than it used to be with the pre-readers for authors, but we will see if the desperation for content outweighs the need for quality come summer! I feel bad sending you guys off for editing in email, but lately the reader base seems to have become much more...picky.  I've seen a few stories that would have been perfectly fine a few months ago get attacked in comments, especially when it comes to grammar.

Pony MUSH

Scribus has put together a My Little Pony MUSH. For those unaware, a MUSH is basically a MUD, which is a text-based adventure game!

He says that the project is in open beta, and he's looking for ponies to test it out, and perhaps for larger roles as well, such as RPing the mane characters. He is also looking for moderators.

Another 2D Pony Game Engine Demonstration

Masterlinkx Pony Channel Shut Down...Again

It's most likely the work of trolls, but once again, Masterlinkx's Youtube channel has been terminated for copyright infringement. 

You all may remember when it was shut down before, but eventually reinstated.  Hopefully Youtube does something about it. 

I don't think this is any reason to panic.  Thankfully no other pony channel has been terminated.  I think Hasbro knows how much of an impact Youtube has had on the success of this show.  They would be absolutely crazy to crack down on it considering 70% of us don't have the Hub.

Champions Online Adds Rainbow Powers

Apparently the MMORPG Champions Online has added rainbow powers, and this has, of course, spawned a whole armada of Rainbow Dash/Celestia knockoffs. 

I never did get into this game myself, but maybe some of you have?  It's pretty amazing how far-reaching bronies are. 

Now to turn back on the MMO resistance... I just quit WoW, I can't get into another!

Events On The Horizon

Here are the plans for the 2 next months or so (assuming I don't die from some pony induced coma).

April Friend Off
The April Friend off will be officially posted on May 2nd.  Currently my "event" folder has 20 entries and counting, so that should be interesting! Especially considering everypony always enters on the very last day!

After that, I have some other stuff planned... Obviously these aren't set in stone, and can change based on feedback below.

OC Pony Competition (Updated)
The First event will be an OC pony Competition. It's supposed to be completely ridiculous and mary sue all over the place.  One bracket will be MS Paint, the other will be for more professional digital artists.  Still working on the specifics here.

I got back in contact with the reward guy.  These are actually some pretty badass prizes!

300 Word Short Story/Poem Event
There are a few fanfiction based pony community/websites in progress right now.  One on DA, and two just out in the void.  So lets give all the fledgling authors some ideas for content!  The first 300 word story event was undeniably successful, and Cereal Velocity is willing to host a new one with his new author powers.  He is still deciding on any special rules for it, but keep an eye open!

Anyway, I'm sure we will run all sorts of neat stuff over the pony break to keep the interest going.  Pony can never die!

"Brave the Night" Ponyventure

This one is very similar to the old quest threads in the traditional games section of 4chan.  For those of you who have never participated in something like that, a drawfriend essentially starts a story off, and the people of the board tell the character in the story what to do.

Unlike a choose your adventure story, these tend to be on the fly, with the artist busting out images based on replies.  

Pretty interesting if you haven't experienced one before!
