I'm starting to wonder if Moot is even aware of all of this.  Usually he's the voice of reason when his mods go on rampages.

Writefriend/Drawfriend Friend Off Event is GO!

I think I used this image recently.. oh well.

Anyway, it looks like everyone is cool with another Writefriend/Drawfriend event.  So I'll post it up!

***Update: Changed the Date, 2 weeks from now instead allowing bans to end.  

The Rules are simple...

Artists: Take one of your Favorite Fics (Story Archive) and Draw Something about it!
Authors: Take your Favorite Art (Label: Drawfriend) and Write Something about it!

What do I get out of it?
Friendship is Magic happens Once a week.  That is 6 days without no pony.  This is unacceptable.  You get to provide people with their Pony fix!  ...which is essentially what drug dealers feel, minus the money and  jail time... Right, ONWARD!

Where do I post it?
On March 14th, assuming /co/ hasn't completely obliterated ponies, you can post your content there for everyone to see.  Also Email It to me so I can upload it to the blog, the Same Way you would email me anything else (but with it's companion image/fic linked).  If the war has returned to 4chan by this time, we will probably end up moving it to a side chan.  Most likely FiMchan due to it's capability of housing large amounts of traffic.

I'm not an Artist, or a Writer, how can I help?
Spread the word! Post it on /co/'s current generals or whatever forum/chan you are from.


What CAN'T I upload for this?
There are no rules for stuff posted on /co/.

Stuff uploaded here will follow the same guidelines as everything else on the blog.

-No Porn (though Borderline is still alright)
-No Cupcakes level gorefests for the sake of posting a story that gets 200 comments like Cupcakes did (I'm tired of refusing these these :x
-No Troll stories Emulating Cupcakes
-Please have someone proofread it.  I usually skim through stuff to see that it doesn't have 90 spelling/grammar errors, but during this event I just won't have time.
-If you submit a stick figure with hooves, please don't take it personally if I don't link it to something.  I haven't really set a quality control thing for the site (Though I get a lot of emails begging me to set one up), but I think we are all smart enough to judge our own works as good or bad.

Should We Do a Drawfriend/Writefriend Write off?

With half of our content producers banned from /co/, is it still viable to hold one of these in the schedule start-of-month time? Is there still any interest even, after the largely successful Valentines day ship off?

If enough people seem interested, I'll host it for March 7th (Monday of next week).   

For those that don't know wtf I'm talking about, we did an event at the start of February (Found here), where Artists took Fanfics and drew stuff out of them, while Authors took Drawfriend stuff and wrote stories based on them.  It was pretty successful, though the non-fic people didn't like it much!

We also did a similar Valentines Day Ship-Off, though the rules were more "just ship something".

How many are interested in this for March?  We would probably have to throw the main thread on Fimchan or Ponychan, unless mods on /co/ unban everyone.

4chan Pony Wars Over; Peace Treaty Negotiated

Looks like the new rules for MLP have been published and finalized... They are pretty strict though.

"Do:
-Keep all MLP related content within the current largest MLP thread
-Actually discuss the show
-Ignore any threads speaking negatively about the show

Do NOT:
-Post any MLP material in any thread not explicitly about MLP (reaction images, avatars, macros, quotes, phrases such as everypony/brony/etc)
-Post threads to speak negatively about MLP or reply to threads speaking negatively about MLP
-Post any MLP material on other boards
-Bump MLP threads just to keep them bumped
-Report MLP threads where users are staying in one thread

These rules are in place for the meantime and we'll make adjustments as we see how everything goes. Abuse will result in bans.  "

I don't think they really realize how many mlp fans there are on /co/.  1 thread limit was possible a  few weeks ago, but these threads are capping in 30 minutes now, It's inevitable than a few will break free.  The archive won't be able to keep up.

And banning MLP reaction images elsewhere is pretty ridiculous. Half of 4chan is reaction images...

Mods Finally Respond to MLP Bannings

Apologies to those of you who have no clue wtf is going on, but for the 70% that do, it looks like the mods have finally given us...something to chew on.

Apparently they were getting piles of complains about mlp avatars and crap.  Why people are so offended about this when right below said avatars is fatfurs and goatse, I will never understand.

Apparently cute is just scary.

We have 2 Pony focused chan boards.

Ponychan
and
FiMchan

Ponies are once again OK on /co/.  

I think it was kind of decided that both boards have different types of communities.

Ponychan was winning, but I don't think it matters anymore.  I personally was posting on FiMchan due to the faster speed/less errors, but I dug some really good content out of ponychan I haven't seen before.

If it ever happens again I can always remake the poll, but looking back it probably wasn't the best idea ever.  Anyway I'm off to work.

/co/ Pony Posts break the 6000 mark.

SO MUCH PONY

Over 6000 posts a day to be exact.  I don't think /co/ has ever had this much traffic.  Not even Avatar and Wakfu could come close.

And it's all about colorful ponies and friendship.... who would have thought?

This does have some negative implications though, mainly the fact that it's near impossible to keep up with this stuff now!

If I miss your fic/video/fan art/news/whatever you can still always Email it to me. Please check THIS POST first for guidelines on what to send with it to make the process cleaner though, especially if you are sending fanfiction.

For those wondering wtf this means, it's all going down on This Board which you have probably seen referenced here a million times by now.  And you can use the Archiver to find what the current thread is, though post numbers have currently exceeded the poor thing's capability to keep up.

Actually on second thought it's probably a terrible idea to link that, feel free to attack me in comments if it was and I'll remove it.
