I was doing so well. Hey guys! It's Apple Cider from the Bronyville Podcast. We've worked with the EQD crew to host a superty-dupery excelent fun show on Saturday, September 10th and you are all invited! How cool is that?

Fillies and gentlecolts, as I write this, my Internet is still out where I live due to the damage from Irene coming through on Sunday. This won't stop me, however.
At the current time, it's 1:25 p.m., August 31st on the east coast. For the Aussie and Asian participants, it's already September 1st. My friends, those participants and those wondering just what will result from this insanity, when you hit midnight local time on the 1st, you are free to write your hearts out.

One of the EQD pre-readers is running an event in September, similar to the National Novel Writing event.
Have some copy-paste!
Hello everypony, Siraj here, otherwise known as Noble Cause, with an event for all those writerly types around here. Some of you know of National Novel Writing Month, taking place in November. For those unfamiliar with it, the idea is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. No, I’m not asking those interested to do it at the same time, that would be an exercise in insanity akin to Pinkie Pie levels. I noticed that September also has the standard 30 day timeframe, so that’s the plan for the first ever National Pony Writing Month.
Anypony willing to participate can do so, even if you’ve never put pencil to paper or hooves to keyboard with such a goal in mind before. The only criteria are that it has to be pony-related, you’re able to begin at midnight on September 1st, and that pencils are down and the last letter is typed by midnight local time on September 30th. No sneaking in a few more words at 12:01 a.m. on October 1st. If you’re interested, e-mail Eqnapowrimo@gmail.com, and put ‘NaPoWriMo’ in the subject line. I look forward to everypony’s attempt, and with luck, we’ll end up with a few more fics to give ‘Fallout: Equestria’, ‘Dangerous Business’, ‘Memories of Days Long Past’, and ‘Past Sins’ a run for their bits.

...Well, that happened fast. So fast we weren't quite ready for it to happen (sorry about the delay)! It's still kind of hard to believe we've gotten this far, but thanks to you guys here we are! And since coming here every day and commenting and sending us awesome content all the time wasn't enough,
38 of you also took the time to help us celebrate this awesomest of all possible milestones (pending 40 million) with some very cool images and comics. A very special thanks to Virga Rainboom for the above image, which was unfortunately too late for the actual contest, but awesome enough to be our title image on the day.
A scientific panel of three blogponies has gone through all your entries and selected three as our very favorites, because there must be winners. But that doesn't mean we appreciate the others any less! It's not all about being the most talented pony in the world, just about taking the time to try something. Here are your instructions:
- Go here, to General Zoi's pony generator.
- Hit 'Random' only once.
- Write a short bio for your generated pony. By short, I mean under 200 words.
- Send both things to CerealVelocity@equestriadaily.com with your name and the header 'OC PONY'! I don't need a Google Doc with your bio- just a paste into the email is fine.
I'll compile the results sometime tonight if I'm not too busy playing Human Revolution.

It's totally Scootaloo Day still. Lucky ass pony.
That's a huge number right there! It looks like we beat pretty much every expectation/forecast stated back when season one ended. Honestly I thought this site would be a ghost town by July. That sure as hell didn't happen.
Thanks to all the artists, musicians, authors, community leaders, and fans of the show out there! This fandom is becoming an unstoppable force! We had some rocky points with the media, but it seems like even they are slowly joining the herd.
And it was all because of cute, colorful ponies from a cartoon for 12 year olds. Social psychologists everywhere are probably completely baffled.
Now onward to Season two!

Happy Luna's Super Magically Fun Storytime Adventure Challenge
Results Post!
Look at that Luna, doesn't she look like a happy Luna? She does! And it's all thanks to you awesome, awesome bronies and your fun-filled fics of fabulousness. In a remarkably short space of time, you flooded my inbox with 61 fics and bought me a ticket all the way home to the controlled chaos which is the EqD headquarters in Canterlot. I presented the Princess of the Night with a stack of paper so high I believe it is officially a mountain. Some of my minions are now scaling the north face. If it had been 40, it would have been terrible. As it was, it was friendship.
Not all of them are what would ordinarily be posted, but I'll be fair - Here we have for you (and don't let your eyes glaze over)
everything I got sent. Because ponies. I want to thank
everypony who put quill to parchment to make this happen. The ones at the top are mine or my minions' favourites, but don't let that stop you from exploring the whole batch. I promised some weekend reading and by gum I'm going to deliver.
Some of these demand their own post, and I think they deserve it.
To everypony who wrote something, even those I didn't post (for not meeting EqD general posting standards), thank you! If I've forgotten you, let me know, I'll see what I can do.

So, I was just thinking to myself that I hadn't really exploded my inbox in a while, when I was asked to host a contest! We're approaching 30 million page views (which was a stupidly huge number the last time I checked), and Jake Heritagu wants to make it the most memorable landmark yet! But he needs your help to do it. The short version is that if you send me comics and pictures of ponies celebrating the big event, you could potentially win prizes. Prizes like Steam purchases and drawings of your own request. Major, major props to Jake for fronting the prize pool out of his own

The Garrys Mod Ponies have been out for a while now, and I haven't really posted any of the videos. I've been receiving a flood of these things, so I'm pretty sure it's time for an event!
I've tried digging information out of people who are experienced in creating this stuff for a way to determine steam awards, but it seems like everyone has a different guesstimate on how long something like this would take/how difficult it is. So I'm rolling with an easy setup for this round.
Using whatever source engine software you deem necessary, craft a pony movie. Feel free to use any Garry's Mod models you want, as long as it includes the pony ones in some way.
THE RULES
1.) Due to the nature of Garry's mod, I'm assuming some explosions and pony pieces are inevitable, but try to keep the senseless gore and "cupcakes" crossovers to a minimum.
2.) No blatant sexual themes, keep it R rated at the maximum.
3.) The Great and Powerful Trixie still needs a model!
THE REQUIREMENTS
1.) Must be at least 50 seconds long not including the credits
2.) Must include a pony model of some type.
3.) Must be uploaded to Youtube or some other Streaming spot (Don't send me download links!)
THE REWARDS
1.) I'll do a vote of all entries when the time comes. The top
2 will each receive
10 dollar steam games of your choice (I'm assuming you all have Steam if you are using source)
2.) Channel views/subscriptions duh!

This is the final labeled round! All I have left is images that are unlabeled sadly. I've sent emails to everyone asking them to add stuff to their images, but only about 5 responded.
I'll try to find some time tomorrow to get them all in and label them manually, but I don't really get a whole lot of time for stuff like that, so there might be a delay!
This was an awesome event. I'm still amazed at how far reaching this community is. Go ahead and save your vacation shots, I'll probably run this again in the future
This entire thing wasn't even my idea. Someone sent an email asking me to host something for him, and we eventually decided to just turn it into an event. You guys are always free to ask me to do events/discussion posts/polls/ect, just drop me a line (Though make it brief!)
Anyway, have some pony!
Oh, and I screwed up on the numbering, so have some Trixie for number 1!
